‘Imagination’ in India

The international creative agency ‘Imagination’ has announced the opening of its new offices in India. Headquartered in London, with its Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong, its other offices in the region are in Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, Tokyo. Having first expanded into Hong Kong in 2000, the launch is symbolic of Imagination’s commitment to the dynamic Asia market.

On the occasion, Mark Barrett, CEO, Asia Pacific, Imagination said,” If we look around at businesses and brands, there is only so far one can go with slimming down, re-engineering, streamlining it. This is where we step in with our ability to create ideas and opportunities for brands, which enable us, transform business through creativity. To do this, we use media neutral platforms be it events, exhibitions, digital, retail design that are appropriate, to the brand situation.

As a reflection of its commitment to India, Imagination has roped in Uday Vijayan a senior and respected marketing and communications professional as Director – Imagination India. Uday began his career in account management and has worked with large global agencies including JWT, Bozell and George P Johnson. He has a deep understanding of the consumer-brand connect and uses this to create meaningful customer experiences. His rich exposure across durables, consumer goods, services, and technology categories are set to drive Imagination’s India growth. Uday is responsible for all aspects of the Indian operations, from setting up a team that is driven by the agency’s vision, to building client respect for the agency.

The Indian operations of the agency would be its 16th office in the world, keeping with the agency’s philosophy of being present in the key decision-making markets and achieving maximum coverage for brands worldwide. In the past, Imagination has produced some campaigns for India out of its international offices but with the increase in demand, the bigger opportunity creatively; it has commercially merited presence within India. The agency has identified Mumbai and Bangalore as the locations for its India offices.

To mark its entry into the Indian market, Imagination will be creating unique and distinctive experiences at the AutoExpo 2012 for world-class brands such as Land Rover, Ford and Tata Motors. While the Tata Motors theme is “Inspired by People”, the Ford theme is around the four brand pillars of Quality, Green, Smart and Safety. The Ford pavilion will also have a performing magician to communicate BLINK OF AN EYE concept that covers the safety angle of Ford cars. The pavilions will be designed to provide a compelling brand experience for the Auto Expo visitors. Imagination has earlier designed the Tata Motors stall at the Auto Expo in 2010.

Besides this, Imagination also handles clients like the Oberoi Hotels and Andaz Hotels by Hyatt, where they are leading the design and styling of the new Andaz Hotel in New Delhi. Besides winning several prestigious international design awards, Imagination Asia Pacific took out Best Corporate Event for the launch of the Ford Ranger and best design for the Ford stand at the Sydney Motor Show at the Australian Event Awards.
